Exploding vaporizer rips a hole in man's tongue and knocks out some teeth after the device blew up in his mouth. A New York is recovering in hospital after his vaporizer exploded in his mouth, ripping a hole in his tongue, knocking out teeth and leaving burns over his hands.
Brandon Barbero, of Albany, said that his device blew up in his face just as he put it in his mouth and pressed the button to get it smoke.
'(It was) like a M80 bomb went off in my mouth,' Brandon told WTEN.
'When I hit the button, I saw a huge yellow light. The next thing I know, I'm on the floor and my arms are paralyzed.'

Explosion suspected to having to do with a faulty battery. Brandon was home alone at the time of the incident and said at first thought his face may have been blown off.

Brandon's mother told WTEN she thinks the vaporizer's battery exploded.
'The battery had exploded inside and everything shot out ... went into his mouth and burned everything,' she said.
Brandon remains in hospital undergoing treatment for his injuries.
It was days before he could even swallow.
His hands remain burned, he lost some teeth, and his tongue was split from the explosion.
